Pushkin - The Catherine Palace

The Catherine Palace is a Rococo palace in Pushkin, about 20 miles south of St. Petersburg.  Built for Catherine I, wife of Czar Peter the Great, is became the summer residence of the Russian czars.  Construction began in 1717. Much of the decorating was done by their daughter, Elizabeth I - hence the E1 seal throughout.
