Moss Landing

Moss Landing is located is located on the Monterey Bay north of the Peninsula. It is home to the very visible Moss Landing power plant, a natural gas production facility with two 750 MW generators, each with a prominent 500-foot stack. Moss Landing is also home to the Moss Landing Marine Laboratories (a part of several campuses of the California State University) and the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute. It is also home to a commercial and sport fishing fleet, and the Elkhorn Slough Estuarine Research Reserve.
